I have a hard time getting any type of foundation. Does the Almay really work im Latina and in the sun i tan i get brown( but not so much). There is actually this shade finder on the back of the packaging that helps you decide if you are light or medium or light/medium. Try a little on your hand in the store first! I've never used it, but it should work just fine. Even if it says 'under-eye' it will still work just as good as any other concealer. If anything would be different, it'd be the fact that this one probably has a more yellowish tone to cover up purple under eye circles.

Durring the day, you should try going for a lighter, natural look, believe it or not, guys usually find it UNATTRACTIVE to cake on make up. guys like to see a side of girls that are beautiful, and natural, so show off your beauty!
For your face make up--- if you have clear or near clear skin, dont wear any face make up!!!! if your that lucky, then appriciate your skin, however, if your like me, and 99% of the rest of the world, your skin is NOT perfect, so use a concealer, or liquid foundation on your really bad spots, then cover your WHOLE FACE in a light powder foundation! it makes your skin look flawless like those perfect girls your see in the magazines[im so jelous! haha]. besure to even cover your eyelids, and under your chin with the powder!
Blush/Bronzer-- Okay, so cheek bones are like the sexiest part of makeup! i personally love to use a bronzer as my blush. if you have a nice blush brush, please, USE IT! okay, so here is how you apply your blush, put a light layer on the plump apple of your cheeks[example: smile, and where ever your cheeks rise up, apply a small, LIGHT amount there] make circluar motions with your brush to blend a little. then, you want to accent your cheek bones, so run the brush along the indent of your cheek bones [example: make a kissy face, and follow the crease all the way to your hair line!!!!!!!!!]

For eyeshadows, i say accent your eye color! There are 3 different colors that you should be useing, and light beige, your eye color[example: green, brown, blue, grey] and a lighter version of that eye color [light green, light blu, etc.]
eyeshadows--- first, cover your entire eyelid with the light beige. Now, use your light eyecolor, to cover the lower 2/3rds of your eyelid. that means from where your the top of your nose ends, down. lastly, you take your dark eyecolor, and create a crease where your eyelid folds. [ex: squint your eyes to that they are neatly closed, put your eyeshadow brush on the outside corner of your eyelid, and follow the crease inwards, the color should fade as you get closer to the inside corner of your eyelid! be sure to blend if needed!
Eyeliner: apply only if needed. and make sure that the outside corners of your eyes always have more eyeliner that anywere else, smear the eyeshadow to create a smokey look, GUYS LOVE THAT!
Mascara: use as black as black gets, and apply as normal. dont allow clumps, they look shitty. hahha
lips--- if you can handle brown tinted lipstick, then go for it! but otherwise, a dull gloss of shimmer is elegant! dont use that slobbery looking ****. i used to when i was younger, and it looks stupid. you need to find a gloss that looks somewhat natural, if you can use your lips as a mirror, then you know that there is too much gloss to it!!
And there you go! you look like a freakin model! happy makeovers!

Philosophy the Present vs Almay Smart Shade vs Covergirl Smoothers?
I would go with Almay because they are hypoallergenic and the middle ground between too expensive and too cheap. They are also animal cruelty free which is big in my book. Plus, places like CVS will let you return products without a lot of hassle.

I have it, and it really does turn into a perfect shade for me. And what I like about it is that it changes and adapts to your skin, so if I get more tanned over a weekend or something, i dont need to reach for a new darker foundation.
The only thing is that it is very sheer, so it doesn't really have a lot of coverage. It's more like a tinted moisturizer, really. I'm going to a pool party at the end of the week, and i started to breakout lastnight. So, i went to the store to look for water resistant foundation. If it is getting cakey, it might be that you are using too much. Concealers are meant to be used for spots or small areas on the face and then blended with foundation. Concealers are thicker in appearance and will create a thick layer that may flake or dry up your face.
Since it is summer right now, a light form of makeup for the face would be powder however it depends on what type of coverage you want/need.
Also, moisturize your face and primer if you need. When that dries, apply your concealer, foundation, etc. for makeup that stays on all day.
I`ve tried almay and to be honest all it did was make my face break out like crazy well right now I`m using bare naturals you can find it at walgreens and cvs pharmacy it`s a powder and it covers your blemishes like a concealer or foundation would so you have all in one!!

But far too thick. And also, the shades didn't have enough yellow in them and they were too beige-ish. And I used the lightest shade (or 2nd lightest) but it was a bit too dark/pink on my skin. I am not a big fan of their foundations. I had tried the purple lid version, and it wasn't that great.

I loove Almay's Intense I-Color Play Up collection-- they make coordinated eyeliners (both pencil and liquid), shadows and mascaras that are specifically designed for your eye color (blue, green, brown %26amp; hazel). The eyeliners that I've tried from that collection are great and look super natural and pretty, as opposed to plain black , which can look a little harsh. Good luck!
I always buy bare essentials everything, it's so expensive, but it's worth it and it lasts forever.. Except for eyeliner! Cheap eyeliner pencils that you have to sharpen yourself like Wet and Wild from the drugstore, are the best.. they never smudge like the softer ones that you twist!
To get the nicest black eyeliner..buy loreal h-i-p cream eyeliner than buy any regular cheap eyeliner and dip the pencil liner into the cream one and it will apply flawlessly and perfectly..it is a great way to have dark eyeliner all day long without smudging =]
Almay eyeliner is amazing. It goes on really smooth and delicate, and it comes in pretty colors. It doesnt smudge very easily and stays on all day. It is $7 I think. They have great collections for different eye colours.
I personally dont use many drugstore brands of makeup, but when i purchased maybelline define a line i was very impressed. It goes on the waterline like butter, and it doesnt smudge off for quite a while! its about 3.50! hope this helps.

I loove Almay's Intense I-Color Play Up collection-- they make coordinated eyeliners (both pencil and liquid), shadows and mascaras that are specifically designed for your eye color (blue, green, brown %26amp; hazel). The eyeliners that I've tried from that collection are great and look super natural and pretty, as opposed to plain black , which can look a little harsh. Good luck!
I always buy bare essentials everything, it's so expensive, but it's worth it and it lasts forever.. Except for eyeliner! Cheap eyeliner pencils that you have to sharpen yourself like Wet and Wild from the drugstore, are the best.. they never smudge like the softer ones that you twist!
To get the nicest black eyeliner..buy loreal h-i-p cream eyeliner than buy any regular cheap eyeliner and dip the pencil liner into the cream one and it will apply flawlessly and perfectly..it is a great way to have dark eyeliner all day long without smudging =]
Almay eyeliner is amazing. It goes on really smooth and delicate, and it comes in pretty colors. It doesnt smudge very easily and stays on all day. It is $7 I think. They have great collections for different eye colours.
I personally dont use many drugstore brands of makeup, but when i purchased maybelline define a line i was very impressed. It goes on the waterline like butter, and it doesnt smudge off for quite a while! its about 3.50! hope this helps.
Revlon Colorstay eyeliner!!! It stays on all day and is waterproof. You can get the pencil or liquid form, they are both amazing.

I agree that almay lasts the longest (the kind you twist up) it lasts extra long if you put loose powder on your eyelid afterwards

I personally use NYC eyeliner pencil. It works fantastically and you can get it anywhere. Pencil stays on longer than crayon. Hope I helped and good luck!

So i bought the almay eye makeup kit for green eyes but i don't get how to make the lightest shade look good?

Right now I'm using the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner, and I do like it, but since it's so creamy, sometimes it can be a bit messy for me, and the one thing I HATE is that I have to keep sharpening it, since it's so creamy, it gets blunt after like 1-2 uses. Out of those two- I liked Almay's better. It provided better coverage, easier to apply and didn't make my acne any worse. For some reason Neutrogena's made me break out.

It has to match your skin tone. I bought the almay eye shadow that was designed for specific eye colors, it was a waste of my money. I only ended up using 1 out of the 3 eye shadows. It has to match your skin tone. If you have dark brown eyes but are fair skinned and you end up buying eye shadow designed for dark brown eyes you will look like a racoon! go with what matches your skin tone if you get a nice light goldish color(copper beach from mary kay is my favorite!) I have green eyes, bought the one for green eyes, loved it %26amp; got complements on it alot, the secret is to not use to much! But... I started to be allergic to it, it made my eyelid red %26amp; itchy so I stopped using it. Try the one for brown eyes %26amp; see what you think.
Gold looks great on me and you just described me, you might want a tiny bit of eyeliner too.
Well i have blue eyes and i tried the Almay eyeshadows for blue eyes and hated them! The colors made me look like a clown! But idk it could be diffrent for brown eyes.

If you want to bring out your eye color you should actually chose a color that is different from you eye color. Since you have brown eyes, I would go with a pale blue or violet eye shadow.
I think Almay is great.
Go with neutral colors like light cream to beiges and browns.
You could try a light lavender pencil for outlining the eye. Don't over do it, keep it natural. Lavener brings out the brown color of the eyes.

Gold looks great on me and you just described me, you might want a tiny bit of eyeliner too.
Well i have blue eyes and i tried the Almay eyeshadows for blue eyes and hated them! The colors made me look like a clown! But idk it could be diffrent for brown eyes.

If you want to bring out your eye color you should actually chose a color that is different from you eye color. Since you have brown eyes, I would go with a pale blue or violet eye shadow.

Go with neutral colors like light cream to beiges and browns.
You could try a light lavender pencil for outlining the eye. Don't over do it, keep it natural. Lavener brings out the brown color of the eyes.

bare escentuals does look really natural but if you're looking to keep the mineral make up you currently have, i would consider investing in a good brush.
bare escentuals has a handy buki brush which i like, but i also like the look synthetic brushes. urban decay and too faced have really good ones, you can get them at sephora.
i have found that to as i like to wear dark make-up, and spending lots off money to so now i use revlon colourstay which is light but good, i always use no.7 intelligent balance mousse foundation and there no.7 liquid foundation and buy them on there 3 for 2 offer,and i would highly recommend them, i hope this helps u,

the almay smartshade makeup comes out white from the tube. when you rub it on the skin, it adjusts to your skin color. the coverage is pretty light and yes, it evens out your skin tone. i think concealer would be better.

smartshade concealer is CRAP. don't get it. it's runny and no good.
i used the smartshade foundation for a really long time... it's about medium coverage...i'd dust over with a powder for even fuller coverage and a good finish.
EDIT- and the powder dusting should help with the glasses, too.

the almay smartshade makeup comes out white from the tube. when you rub it on the skin, it adjusts to your skin color. the coverage is pretty light and yes, it evens out your skin tone. i think concealer would be better.

smartshade concealer is CRAP. don't get it. it's runny and no good.
i used the smartshade foundation for a really long time... it's about medium coverage...i'd dust over with a powder for even fuller coverage and a good finish.
EDIT- and the powder dusting should help with the glasses, too.
you know smartshade doesnt change to your skin tone, its like a lotion, just gets rubbed into your skin.

I am talking about those Almay eye makeup kits that have the three colors of shadow, liner, and mascara, and are supposed to make your eye color POP! I have been looking at the one for brown eyes, which has brown, tan, and lavender. The liner is lavender, as well, then the mascara is brown. I would probably not do the brown mascara, but I might, if it really does make your eyes look nice.
I am a little leery of anything purple or lavender on my eyes, as I am more of a plum girl, but I was wondering if it really does enhance your eye color. I am also wondering if the makeup itself is of a nice consistency, or if it's dry and flaky, or too shimmery, or kind of sticky.
Any input you can give me would be appreciated, and the more detail you can supply, the better.

Just over all, how are thier concealers, eyeshadows and eyeliners? They are kinda expensive for drugstore brands and i was thinking of trying them. I especially am interestred in the new Almay Bright Eyes collection.

How well does the almay blemish foundation work at covering skin and helping with acne?
It works GREAT -- on me, at least. The color blends well, it doesn't dry out my skin, which is good when you have blemishes. It's honestly the best foundation I've used for my skin, and I am very picky when it comes to my makeup. I'm not too sure if it takes blemishes away, but it does minimize them. Yes those eyeshadows are meant to enhance your specific eye color so it'll look good and natural even if it doesn't go with what you're wearing. If you want it to look even more natural just make it lighter. I used the one for blue eyes and it worked really well. I can't remember how to apply it but I think it has instructions on the back of the package.

almay might but this really works. find some pakistani food store -can give you numbers if i u give me the city (or even indian, asian or middle eastern international food store). get some CHICK PEA FLOUR (you really need very little daily).
take about 1 tsp flour mix with few drops of any reg milk into smooth sort of semi liquidy paste. apply to acne area and keep for about 20-30 minutes till dries. rinse with cool water. continue till acne gone. good luck.Will Almay make up be good for my acne? So I went back and demanded Accutane, which I was on for a short period of time and have never had another problem since. I also saw an interview in which Jessica Simpson admitted to using Accutane, which is sort of ironic because she is the poster girl for another pricey acne-care company.
Also I do maintenance with Clean and Clear benzoyl peroxide and that works really well for me.
i dont recommend almay makeup or liquid period. since you have oily skin you should use a powder to soak up the oil. try physicians formula mineral loose powder with some concealer. their makeup is made for people with acne prone skin and has helped mine out a lot. it has great coverage and lasts all day.

2. Almay Smart Shade is supposed to be hypoallergenic (although it's just a label some companies put that on there, but I've read a few articles about Almay's makeup and I am convinced that this is legit)
3. If you are against animal testing (honestly, I'm neutral to the debate), Almay is the way to go. It's one of the few drugstore brands that doesn't test on animals.
4. Almay Smart Shade has SPF 15, Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse has no SPF (which is good if you're allergic to certain SPF ingredients, but I don't personally know anybody who is)
5. The only con about Almay Smart Shade is that it has sheer coverage (which is why it ';transforms'; into your ideal shade... it's too sheer to be the wrong shade).

my skin is kind of oily and i have some acne, but this makeup has salicylic acid and meadowsweet to improve your complexion. i've never used this before, but the Neutragina skin clearing foundation covers your skin and it does clear your skin up, it does not have an orange tone to it.

I used it.
My skin: Combination-Oily. My cheeks are on the dryer to normal side, while my t-zone gets oilier (specifically my nose). I am acne prone around my entire face, specifically in the lower forehead, nose, chin and upper cheek area.
My experience: It was too heavy. Coverage was decent, but it just felt too heavy. It never did anything for my skin, it might actually have broken me out. Smelled weird, went on a bit streaky (nothing blending can't fix) and I think that it actually had a pinkish tone on my skin. I can't remember though. All I remember is that none of the shades were a perfect match for my skin. The one I used was close, but i think it was too.. beige for my skin. And since I have more of a neutral, yellow and slightly olive undertone, anything beige appears pink on my skin.
It sometimes could look cakey a bit, but overall it wasn't too bad. It lasted long enough on my skin (that is with many powderings) and didn't irritate my skin.
I suggest trying it out, and it you dislike it, return it. Pretty much every store that sells cosmetics (or anything beauty related) has a return policy, so just ask the store.

i've never used this before, but the Neutragina skin clearing foundation covers your skin and it does clear your skin up, it does not have an orange tone to it.

My skin: Combination-Oily. My cheeks are on the dryer to normal side, while my t-zone gets oilier (specifically my nose). I am acne prone around my entire face, specifically in the lower forehead, nose, chin and upper cheek area.
My experience: It was too heavy. Coverage was decent, but it just felt too heavy. It never did anything for my skin, it might actually have broken me out. Smelled weird, went on a bit streaky (nothing blending can't fix) and I think that it actually had a pinkish tone on my skin. I can't remember though. well the pressed on is like a solid block of pressed powder
the other one is loose like grains
either one would be good they dont make too much of a difference but i think pressed is a little better and easier to use and less of a mess

I'd give Chanel a try, but first, call a dermatolgist's office who does plastic surgery or eyelid plastic surgery. They will know for sure and probably have a special line they carry in the office for just that sort of thing. At least you know you will get your $$$ back with them.
u can use the maybelline. their eye make-up is hypoallergenic which is great for sensitive eyes. i have an allergy problem too and maybelline eyeliner,mascara and eyeshadow doesn't irritate my eyes.

I was thinking about changing the type of foundation and concealer I use and Almay looks like it would be a good convenient choice. So, is it good?How good is Almay Smart Shade Make up?
It is a decent foundation for the price and Almay is known for quality and its lack of harsh ingredients and fragrance. So it won't irritate skin.
However, no makeup can ';magically'; change to your skin tone. It doesn't change color in the tube because the chemicals need to react to oxygen. Once you apply it, it sets to the color the chemicals are supposed to reflect, not to your face.
I would give it a try if you want a light-coverage smooth finish foundation. If you are looking for something really excellent try Make Up For Ever 's HD foundation-- it dries to a glowy, dewy finish like you see on celebrities!How good is Almay Smart Shade Make up?
